Mexican Vegan Eats in LA

Los Angeles is no stranger to the Vegetarian and Vegan lifestyle-- especially when it comes to the restaurant scene. There really is something for every plant based diet and to satisfy those who may not be convinced with the idea of eating a meat free meal.

We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite Vegan Mexican spots here in Los Angeles, along with what to order for a guaranteed successful dining experience. Buen provecho!

Gracias Madre

Located in the heart of West Hollywood, Gracias Madre is the place to be for a trendy vegan Mexican food experience. Chances are you’ll get to enjoy a delicious meal and have a few celebrity sightings.

Although the menu does change from time to time, one starter that has stood the test of time is the Coliflor Frito (fried cauliflower). Served with cashew “crema” and lemon, this is the perfect way to begin your meal at Gracias Madre.

Todo Verde

Currently you can find the Todo Verde team serving up vegan goodness at Smorgasburg in DTLA every Sunday from 10am-4pm or catering throughout the Los Angeles area— with a restaurant soon to come!

With menu items including aguas frescas, nachos, tacos, and so much more, any pick will be an excellent pick. We recommend the ceviche de palmitas and horchata negra.

Vegatinos

That’s VEGanlaTINOS— yes, as in vegan latinos. With a name this fun and food this good, there’s no wonder why Vegatinos has become an LA favorite.

This vegan eats pop-up updates their location, schedule, and menu weekly on their Instagram. If you can’t decide what to try, we recommend the tacos al pastor and the papas a la bestia!

Cena Vegan

Known for their plant-based meats, Cena has focuses on creating vegan products that are authentically flavored, high in protein, and free of trans-fat or cholesterol. There are two ways to get your Cena Vegan fix: buying their plant-based meats at one of their retailers near you, or stopping by their food pop-up! Cena can also be found serving up vegan deliciousness at Smorgasburg in DTLA every Sunday from 10am-4pm.

We recommend trying the Nacho Boat with Al Pastor “meat”!

Leonors

Located in Studio City, Leonors has been serving up delicious vegetarian/vegan Mexican food since 1988. Their goal is create dishes packed with flavor, while keeping health in mind.

We suggest trying the Special Pizza— but with a menu as big as theirs, you'll have plenty of options to choose from!
