Since the beginning of SALSAOLOGY, there are a few things we have always stood behind--- LA is home, shopping local is the way to go, and to support women entrepreneurs any chance we get. Lucky for us, being an #LAOriginal brand encompasses all of the above.
If you are not yet familiar with the LA Original project, it is a program designed by Mayor Eric Garcetti to celebrate and showcase the city of Angels as the creative city it is. This program provides a platform for the city to highlight and promote local creators and their creations through a line of LA-branded products made right here in Los Angeles, California.
Last year we had the honor of being selected to become a part of Mayor Garcetti’s LA Original project. We are so proud to be a #LAOriginal brand and to be able to include our Mexican inspired sauces as a part of the unique, creative, and locally produced goods to wear the LA Original badge. With Mayor Garcetti’s project, we now have a common symbol to celebrate the creativity and originality that make up this diverse city. This badge encourages visitors and locals alike to shop local and discover the talented individuals who make this city so creative.
As if celebrating the city of Angels and supporting local creators wasn’t cool enough, the LA Original program is also dedicated to helping support creative entrepreneur programs in Los Angeles! Being a part of this program allows us to represent the beautiful city of Los Angeles, while also giving back. A portion of proceeds from each of purchase of our Ancho Chile & Tamarind Sauce go to the Mayor’s fund to support the Downtown Women’s Center’s “Made by DWC”--- a wonderful program that teaches job training and maker skills to women transitioning out of homelessness.
Last year, we were honored to be a part of the #LAOriginal summer collection that was available at the MOCA Store LA Original pop-up. This year, we are once again excited to have our products at the LA Original pop-up located in LAX— at Terminal One and Tom Bradley International.
The LA Original program is a great representation of the creative culture in the city of angels as well as a reminder to support local creativity and make #LAOriginal.
